Visit NTGent during Heritage Day (12/09)

| 8 September 2021
Heritage Day is the largest annual one-day event in Flanders. As always, NTGent takes part this Sunday, 12th of September.

During Heritage Day (Open Monumentendag) thousands of historical buildings and sites are open to the public free of charge. This year, everything revolves around 'inclusive heritage", the perfect opportunity to show you how important it is for NTGent to include everyone.

On the 12th of September, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., we will open our theater for inclusive tours, accessible to all target groups and without booking. From 10 a.m. the tours are organised continuously and you’re free to walk in and out at any time!

Practical informations:

In order to take into account everyone's needs and wishes as best as possible, three time slots have been scheduled throughout the day, during which specific guided tours will take place. Only these three tours will take place at a specific time. You don't have to make a reservation, just walk in and talk to our team.

  • A guided tour with a Flemish Sign Language interpreter: at 9 a.m.
  • A guided tour in English: at 11:30 am
  • A guided tour (in Dutch) for blind or visually impaired people: at 3.30 p.m.

Of course, these tours are also available to people who are hearing and sighted, or who speak Dutch. Our tours are also fully wheelchair accessible and for every age category.

So make sure to come and have a taste of the history of the theater, and take a look behind the scenes of our theater house.
