Eye on Palestine @ NTGent
| 20 November 2024As part of the Eye on Palestine program and the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, NTGent presents the reprise of Perzen. Triomf van Empathie from November the 29th to December the 1st.
On November the 29 th, after the performance of Perzen. Triomf van Empathie, director Chokri Ben Chikha, actress and dancer Marah Haj Hussein, and Ludo De Brabander (Vrede vzw) will come together in the NTGent foyer for a debate on The Role of Art, Empathy, and International Solidarity in the Context of the Palestinian Genocide, moderated by Nora Mahammed (Director of the TheaterFestival).
During the performance days, NTGent welcomes Manoeuvre for NAMES NOT NUMBERS in the Schouwburg, a solidarity embroidery project commemorating the victims in Gaza. This series concludes on December the 1st with a Dabke dance workshop by Yalla 3 Dabke, where participants can experience Palestinian dance culture.
These three days are part of Eye on Palestine, a series of events taking place from November the 21st to December the 20th at various locations in Ghent. During this period, cultural organizations and civil society initiatives in Ghent highlight Palestinian culture, history, and the impact of the occupation through art in various disciplines, with space for reflection through debates and lectures.
