NTGent is looking for 3 actors with African roots| 4 September 2018
In the trilogy THE SORROWS OF BELGIUM, consisting of the national tricolour BLACK/YELLOW/RED, director Luk Perceval zooms in on three dark passages in Belgian history.
The first part is BLACK, based on a true story of one of the first Congo travelers in history: the African-American William Henry Sheppard, called 'the Black Livingstone'.
-a man for the role of Sheppard: age 35 to 55 multilingual NL/FR/EN (or at least two of the three)
-a woman for various roles: age 25 to 50 multilingual NL/FR/EN (or at least two of the three)
-a man or a woman: age less important. multilingual NL/FR/EN (or at least two of the three)
Start of rehearsal: Monday 7/1/2019
Opening night:: Saturday 16/3/2019 in NTGent Schouwburg
Tour: app. 25 performances until Thursday 30/5/2019
