Accessibility

NTGent is an open house, accessible to everyone.

In order to be able to offer you the best service, we ask you to always provide all relevant information when booking your tickets. Before the show begins, during the break and when leaving the auditorium and the building, you can approach the staff with your questions and for any help.

People who want to make use of our accessibility services are requested to order their tickets by telephone, email or at the office of Tickets Gent. Please state clearly which service you would like to use, so that we can provide you with customised service.

With the help of our theatre tablet, we are taking a big step forward in making our performances accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired. We are doing this by offering a pre-recorded audio description which is played during the performance via a tablet. You are not restricted in your choice of a particular performance date, as is the case when we offer live audio description on a one-off basis: the tablets are available on every date when a particular production is on. The range of performances at which we can offer the tablets will grow steadily with our repertoire. You can find more information under 'the theatre tablet'.

Every season, we also look at whether we can make additional productions accessible via a live audio description.

Finally: assistance dogs are welcome in our theatres. When booking your ticket, indicate whether you will be accompanied by an assistance dog and/or would like our reception staff to help you during your visit to one of our venues.

The stairs of the public area of our Schouwburg are fitted with studs: a tactile warning device for the blind and visually impaired.
