Ik ben mijn straat

In 'Ik ben mijn straat', Mokhallad Rasem and Jessa Wildemeersch each return to the street where they grew up.
House by house, they evoke the residents in their imaginations, some from his street in Iraq, others from her street in Belgium. And what do they find? The residents’ stories are surprisingly alike on more than one occasion. Jessa Wildemeersch and Mokhallad Rasem have worked together in the past on productions including Long Days. Short Stories, Monde.com, Caligula, Djinny and Wachten.
In Ik ben mijn straat, Mokhallad and Jessa connect their surroundings in Iraq and Belgium with words, images and memories. They end up in the present day, as the people they are now, in beauty and transience.
