khouyoul - Kabinet K & L'Art Rue
Khouyoul is the Tunisian reinterpretation of the much-praised dance performance Horses by Kabinet K (2016) in which dancers go in search of a unique link between two entities, like a rider and a horse. The Tunisian version was produced for Dream City, an arts festival that aims to counterbalance the malaise that seems to shroud Tunisian society. Selma and Sofiane Ouissi, the driving forces behind the festival, recognized the feeling of hope and blind faith. With a Tunisian cast (six children, three adult dancers and three musicians), Joke Laureyns and Kwint Manshoven re-enacted the creation process of Horses. The result: a small utopia of harmony
A small utopia of solidarity from Tunisia.
