Re-claiming Space

Re-claiming Space premieres every night. The performance takes shape live on stage. At the start there is a ritual and a manifesto. Cameras monitor. But above all, there is space, space to reclaim. On stage lies a white canvas, everything is open.
Every night, Khadija invites someone onto the stage she has never met on stage or in real life. A performer, writer, artist, dancer, human being... Re-claiming space by sharing space, that is the motto.

"El Kharraz Alami is an overwhelming stage personality"Vincent Kouters - Volkskrant
Re-claiming Space is an investigation into female vulnerability and strength, and is inspired by Clarissa Pinkola Estés' The Indomitable Woman and Audre Lorde's Your Silence Will Not Protect You, among others.
Khadija's guest in Ghent is Belgian costume designer Soner Cetin. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sint-Niklaas in 2011 and was since involved in more than 20 productions and exhibitions. For his designs, he often draws inspiration from ancient myths and materials that are not obvious.
