Let your guests enjoy the grandeur of our large auditorium in the heart of Ghent's historic centre.

The NTGent main hall is located on Sint-Baafsplein, one of the most beautiful spots in the city. Between Ghent's belfry and the illustrious St Bavo's Cathedral, home to the iconic Ghent Altarpiece. The 19th-century neo-Renaissance building, with its red carpet and velvet chairs, lends every event a touch of cachet. Downstairs, there is the NTGent Café in the stately entrance hall, and on the first floor, the NTGent Foyer, the ideal place for a reception, for example.

The theatre is a classic proscenium theatre with a sloping stage floor and an accessible understage area. There is a well-equipped backstage area, including dressing rooms and showers. The technical installation, including a high-quality sound system, a truck lift and an electronically controlled pulley system, has been recently renovated.

Looking for a multifunctional black box for your event? 

Our theatre hall NTGent Minnemeers has a flat floor and is a so-called “black box”, including an adaptable audience gallery. The technical equipment is adapted to the dimensions of the hall, but additional equipment can be installed after consultation. There is a spacious backstage area, a cosy entrance hall and a bar on the top floor. The interior of the audience area has been renovated in 2025 to make NTGent Minnemeers the perfect place to welcome spectators before and after your performance or event.

The NTGent Foyer, on the first floor of our main hall (Schouwburg), is perfect for wedding parties, receptions, coffee tables, lectures and other events.

The stately yet modern foyer has a well-equipped kitchen, where the NTGent team prepares delicious dishes, entirely according to your style and taste. An external caterer is also welcome. At the bar, the trained NTGent staff serve a wide selection of drinks.

The NTGent Foyer also has a spacious terrace, a hidden gem that offers a magnificent view of Sint-Baafsplein, the belfry and the cathedral. The perfect place for a summer reception.
