Catalogue of Resistance
The Afghan poet Parwana Amiri, the Croatian philosopher Srecko Horvat and the Syrian playwright Mohammad Al Atar, among others, wrote contributions for the catalogue, at the request of NTGent and IIPM. As well as Tarik Chaoui, Frederik Van Driessche, Wolfgang Kaleck, Ramona Lenz, Mufti Wali Hassan, Kobina Jerry Amokwandoh, Vandana Shiva, Diletta Belotti, Mohammad Al Attar and Lara Staal.
The texts show how inhuman undocumented migrants are treated in Europe and far beyond. But they also help look for solutions and offer alternatives to the current dehumanising rhetoric and politics. The catalogue also tackles other forms of inequality such as neo-colonialism.
The catalogue is published on the occasion of the multi-day event School of Resistance: Right to Regularisation that takes place in Ghent on 4 and 5 March 2022.
School of Resistance is an award-winning series of debates initiated by Milo Rau, artistic director of NTGent; a platform that offers activists, academics and artists the chance to think together about strategies for a solidarity-based future for our planet.
