In a world where even sleepwalking is viewed with suspicion, a child can be arrested without knowing why.
This Is Not What I Want to Tell You follows theatre maker Rimah Jabr and a fifteen-year-old girl who wakes up next to a settlement fence whilst being arrested during a sleepwalking episode. But has she really done anything wrong?
The performance is set against a reality in which children are under constant surveillance and everyday actions can lead to arrest. Anyone found in the ‘wrong’ zone, crossing an invisible boundary, or simply being present, is treated as a suspect.
When language falls short and testimonies are silenced, the body itself becomes a form of resistance. This Is Not What I Want to Tell You explores how young people, despite control and restriction, find ways to remain visible.
