In his own works, Gilles searches for a dramaturgy of light and how light changes can tell a story. His first performance lightparticles inc. premiered at Theater Aan Zee in 2023 and is still touring in Belgium next season.

During season 24-25, Gilles Pollak, together with Sjoerd Koolma and Sarah Ringoet, is one of three artists participating in NTGent XS, NTGent's residency for new creators.
