In La Lettre, the family histories of young artists serve as the starting point for an exploration of those moments when a life quietly changes course.
Generational conflicts, political history, love, and death emerge as fault lines that only become apparent in hindsight, yet have, in the meantime, shifted everything. What appears intimate and personal simultaneously opens up to broader histories and invisible structures that help shape every story.
Stories ranging from Joan of Arc to Chekhov’s The Seagull are juxtaposed in a constant movement between fiction and reality, between stage and life. Through recorded voices, the dead also return to the stage, causing memory and presence to continue to merge.
