In Nothing Bigger Than Humanity, you are invited to experience what it means to be human in today’s world. What begins as a performance becomes a shared space of testimony.

Millennials from four continents revisit recent world history as they experienced it first-hand as children: an absurd war, an industrial disaster, a musical mobilisation, and an all-encompassing social experiment. Not a distant history, but memory, confusion, and experience brought to life once more.

Sarah Jeffery (recorder and vocals), Yung Tuan Ku (vibraphone and percussion), and Andrea Voets (harp and electronics) create a constantly shifting soundscape live, within which the stories unfold.

After each scene, the audience is invited to respond. These live reactions help shape how the performance develops, meaning no two evenings are the same. The result is a collective narrative about global power dynamics and the forces that put pressure on human relationships.

Resonate Productions brings journalism and music together to create a performative account of the world as it is lived.

They saw the play and said:

  • 'Nothing Bigger Than Humanity' brings humanity a little closer after all the suffering in the world. In a three-hour musical ritual, recordings of five witnesses to profound events intertwine with semi-improvised live music and reactions from the audience. It aims to be a balm for our souls through listening together in a shared space where there is nothing but care for one another’s vulnerability.
