21.02.26 — 25.02.26In 2025, DE HOE ventured into creating a sitcom for the stage - a megalomaniacal plan that could only end in thwarted ambitions, broken hearts, and bruised egos.
Against all laws of logic, the performers nevertheless succeeded in their undertaking. DE SITCOM became a triumph, even surpassing Opening Night, one reviewer exulted.
But what if the complex creation behind the scenes had taken its toll? What if, in reality, the group was beginning to crack, almost torn apart? External success, internal conflict. And then the question: what now? What, for God’s sake, do you do next?
Make a comeback, of course - but back to what?
DE SITCOM ended in an existential maze of Lynchian proportions, searching for a way out of endless laughter. That is precisely where DE HOE picks up the thread again: what does the company encounter at the heart of the labyrinth? In DE SITCOMEBACK - at once a mirror, a spin-off, and a fully autonomous work - the members of DE HOE attempt to formulate a definitive provisional answer to the questions they can no longer avoid. Is it all something to laugh at, or to cry over? When does lightness become unbearable? And how do you become, once again, the inspired collective you always hoped to be?
