Hofstade

Like most teenagers, Babette, Vasco, Ayoub, Haby, Abigael, Paloma and Viggo are looking for independence and freedom. In Hofstade, these youngsters seek it in a fictional space. On a stage, or perhaps on the sand of Hofstade's artificial beach on the edge of Brussels, they play characters in battle with the theatre.
They search for other versions of themselves and play with the roles assigned to them by their social environment, their origins and their socio-economic background. The youngsters tell the story of a refugee. What if the lake and artificial beach turned into the Atlantic Ocean? What if they built a sailboat to face the waves?
