CANCELLED --- We are deeply sorry that we cannot share this special work with you as intended. We know many of you were looking forward to the performance, and we share that disappointment. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation for the artists and creative team behind Echo, who have invested so much care and dedication in bringing this production to life. It is especially regrettable that circumstances beyond our control prevent us from presenting their work to you at this time.

***

An uncharted theatrical odyssey through time and space, where unrehearsed brilliance meets climate crisis innovation.

Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour and Italian-Palestinian director Omar Elerian push the boundaries of unrehearsed cold reads to the next level. A new performer takes to the stage at every show without a clue of what is going to be asked of them. Unrehearsed and unprepared, the script becomes their guide as they journey through the playwright’s story, with a live connection to his flat in Berlin.

Fusing technology with the oldest tricks in the book, ECHO (Every Cold-Hearted Oxygen) is an experiment in concept touring for the age of climate crisis: an ambitious, magical and uncompromising production where no one travels yet everybody can be present.

They saw the play and said:

  • It’s beautiful, funny, confusing and penetrating in equal measure, and while this kind of high concept theatre often threatens to become gimmicky, Soleimanpour’s work still surprises every time.
