Katrientje

In 1991, Katrien died from the effects of an incurable brain tumour after a long illness. Her sister Barbara was eight, she was twelve. When events are too momentous, different scenarios unfold. 

Barbara wanted to write a new story with all the tragedy and silence that had taken hold of her. One that faced the bare facts, but dared to counter them with fantasy, humour and comfort. A reconstruction through the eyes of the child she was then, at a time when hardly any attention was paid to grieving.
